Tech for Good: How to Leverage Your Digital Skills to Facilitate Social Impact with Liz Ngonzi '

Join us for Tech for Good: How to Leverage Your Digital Skills to Facilitate Social Impact with presenter Liz Ngonzi '92, CEO and Founder of Liz Ngonzi Transforms. This webinar is hosted by iSchool Prof. Martha Garcia-Murillo, Professor and Senior Associate Dean of IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) Initiatives, and moderated by Adrienne Graves, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations at the iSchool.

These are exceptionally difficult times for the social sector with some estimates indicating that as many as 40% of the 1.7 million nonprofits in the U.S. could close due to COVID-19-related revenue shortages during the next three years.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has already devastated entire economies, and funding for social impact organizations has decreased even as the need for their services continues to increase. But as the sector works to rebound, opportunities are being created for organizations with the capacity to innovate — by leveraging digital platforms, introducing new revenue models, embarking on nontraditional collaborations and paying attention to new voices.

Opportunities will exist within these innovative organizations for nimble, focused, creative and well-networked change makers who are armed with the digital skills and entrepreneurial mindset to help the sector recover.

Join host Liz Ngoni ’92 to discuss how nonprofits can leverage digital storytelling to ensure their continuing relevance and to thrive even in the current circumstances — and how individuals possessing the kinds of digital skills and entrepreneurial mindset developed at the iSchool can bring their talents to bear in helping them to do so.
