Opening Ceremony of the 12th African Games will take place in Rabat from 19-31 August, 2019 in accordance with the MOA signed in Rabat, on November 10th, 2018, approving Morocco to host such major sports event, following the withdrawal of Equatorial Guinea. This 12th edition will be, for the first time in African Games history, a qualification step to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

حفل افتتاح النسخة الثانية عشرة للألعاب الإفريقية لسنة 2019 بالرباط. تنظم في الفترة الممتدة ما بين 19 و 31 غشت 2019، عقب توقيع المملكة المغربية و الاتحاد الإفريقي على بروتوكول اتفاق بالرباط يوم 10 نونبر 2018 الذي يعهد إلى المغرب شرف تنظيم دورة الألعاب الإفريقية لعام 2019، بعد انسحاب غينيا الاستوائية
بخصوص جديد هذه النسخة ، فقد تم إدراج 17 نوعا رياضيا من أصل 29 ، في قائمة الأنواع الرياضية المنافسة على حجز بطاقة التأهل للألعاب الأولمبية بطوكيو2020، بغية استقطاب أكبر عدد من الأبطال الأفارقة ، وذلك لأول مرة في تاريخ هذه الألعاب

Cérémonie d'ouverture des Jeux africains de 2019, douzième édition des Jeux africains, ont lieu du 19 au 31 août 2019 à Rabat, au Maroc.
Cette 12ème édition sera qualifiante pour la première fois dans l’histoire des JA aux Jeux Olympiques de Tokyo 2020.
