South African businesses are feeling the effects of global megatrends, and more. One of the biggest issues facing South African businesses is the load-shedding issue. The Reserve Bank of South Africa predicted that there will be about 250 days of power blackouts this year, with an estimated $51 million lost every day due to load shedding. That translates to a historic economic loss of $12.7 billion.
Beyond the electricity load-shedding issues, there are other challenges that businesses in Africa’s most-industrialized economy are facing.
