There are so many ways you can achieve an African Interior Design Scheme In Your Home . In This video I talk on how you can decorate an African Interior Theme .
So how do you decorate an african interior design style in 2022 ?Decide on the style -african interior design style can be applied in any setting .whether you're going for contemporary african interior design style or you're going for BOHO which is from morocco or whether you're going for african traditional or luxury or safari african interior design style .like there's so many that you can choose from but when you're designing your space to apply that african design scheme into your home it can be applied anywhere ,yeah it can be applied in any style whether you're going for a minimalistic softy Look, whether you're going for scandi, whether you're going for contemporary you can always add that touch of africa in any interior design style.The good part about african interiors ,most of the things that are used are timeless like you don't have to worry. Let's talk about the Colour palettes. African colours are bold and neutral which is amazing .It gives you the best of both worlds and they're inspired by nature so you're going to think about mustard yellow, terracotta or burnt orange. Colors that are inspired from the earth tones. if you're not someone who is bold enough to go like for these vibrant colors you could just do an accent wall. i think an accent wall would really do great to keep your minds stimulated and very very active .it would really give you that african feeling and of course there is black and white which is mostly used colors when it comes to patterns -african patterns. And you'll see this in traditional wear ,baskets depending on which part you'll be to, like if you go to south africa it will be different but if you go to rwanda the patterns mostly are really in white and black and yeah it's amazing . How to decorate ?when you want that african touch into your home i would suggest that you go for light fixtures ,we're talking about lighting right now, because a lighting can really change a space and it can create that focal point, so when you're decorating your space and you want that african feel i would advise that you go for african-inspired fixtures, that have african elements, for instance i went to this place where i always do massages from, i was in east africa .Had these light fixtures which were made of calabash and i was like wow it really really looked amazing like it's warm, it's inviting it has that african feel and it's cozy i just love african luxury. You'd be surprised that there are so many that you could choose from,Ndebele necklace fixtures ,i've seen them online and they look amazing ,the basket chandeliers. i love how africans are getting creative. Though one thing that you have to make sure of is that once you want to buy something, just make sure it's benefiting the community of those hard-working women whether it's a rug. i hate it when just brands copy ideas and then they just duplicate things and just sell and they have no history of the culture !Cultural appropriation.
