Two Urban and Rural Development staff die in car crash - nbc


A car accident on Friday night claimed the lives of two Ministry of Urban and Rural Development employees. Lukas Nangolo served as the official driver, while George Shiluwa was the bodyguard for Minister James Sankwasa.​

According to the police report, at 19:50 at the intersection of Rocky Crest and Khomasdal traffic lights on Sam Nujoma Drive, a vehicle collided with the government car. The impact led to another collision between the government car and an Amarok.

The two occupants, 50-year-old Nangolo and 38-year-old Shiluwa, died instantly.

The accident occurred as they were heading home after dropping off Minister James Sankwasa at his residence.

When contacted by NBC News, Minister Sankwasa described Nangolo and Shiluwa's demeanours and peaceful, accommodating personalities as beyond description. He added that God had given him the opportunity to work with such wonderful people and wished their families peace and reliance on divine guidance.​

A case of culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving has been registered against the driver of the vehicle that struck the car carrying Nangolo and Shiluwa.
